Una sencilla ruta por la Huerta Sur por el viejo camino de Albal apta para todos

Situada al oeste del casco urbano, en una pequeña y apenas perceptible colina, rodeada de un pinar y frente a una gran explanada escalonada, la ermita de Santa Ana de Albal fue fundada por el Cabildo Catedralicio de Valencia para conmemorar el hallazgo de una imagen de Santa Ana encontrada en el tronco de un olivo centenario. Alcasser, Picassent, Torrent y Albal son poblaciones al margen de la huerta de Valencia, ya que apenas unas pocas hectáreas fueron regadas con agua del Turia. En Torrent puede seguirse en un primer momento paralelo a la vía del tren (FEVE) que se dirige hacia Picassent, en la misma estación de Torrent, la antigua, con las vías a nuestra derecha para dejarlas inmediatamente tras pasar un túnel cerca de las instalaciones de Iberdrola.
Una vez en la rotonda que se dirige a los viveros, ya seguiremos en dirección sur casi paralelos a la autovía de Albal. Una vez en la rotonda de acceso al polígono y a la población, seguimos hacia la ermita de Santa Ana y una vez allí tras visitarla y descansar un poco, seguiremos hacia Picassent y Alcasser para, una vez pasadas las vías del AVE, volver hacia Torrent por el carril bici.
Una excursión sencilla, apta para todos los públicos, que completarán unos 25 kms por un paisaje, entre la huerta y el secano que conserva aún, una parte de su pasado agrícola.
