Hola amigos, tras el parón obligatorio de las fiestas de las Fallas vuelvo a estar con vosotros. En este post os voy a describir la secuencia o progresión de ejercicios estándar ordenados por grado de dificultad y que tienen como objetivo principal enseñar al alumno a controlar la dirección y la velocidad de la cometa en tierra o en aguas poco profundas, donde mantenga contacto con el suelo y sin comprometer su equilibrio.
Antes de continuar quiero aclararos que este artículo tiene como único objetivo mostrar cómo se aprende el Kiteboarding, pero de ninguna manera pretende convenceros para que aprendáis por vuestra cuenta, todo lo contrario, nunca aprendáis solos, acudid a una escuela homologada con profesores debidamente titulados en zonas autorizadas y seguras.
Inflar el borde ataque de espaldas al viento y con la cometa asegurada
No olvidéis que aprender kite sin cumplir debidamente todos los requisitos y protocolos de seguridad es muy peligroso, de hecho todas las cometas que están a la venta incluyen en las instrucciones o en la misma cometa, carteles avisando del peligro.
El objetivo final en la etapa de la iniciación es que alumno sea capaz de salir por un canal balizado y navegar fuera de la zona de bañistas (200 m.), mediante un control “básico” de los distintos rumbos, tanto amurado a babor como a estribor, siendo capaz de mantenerse en un área limitada sin perder barlovento y pudiendo volver a tierra por el mismo canal balizado.
He de subrayar que siempre en condiciones de navegación (espaciales y meteorológicas) “favorables” y muy fáciles y teniendo en todo momento cerca a su monitor.
Centro de gravedad ligeramente retrasado, piernas separadas y semiflexionadas.
La etapa de iniciación se compone de tres fases: de pilotaje de la cometa desde tierra, de pilotaje de la cometa desde el agua y de pilotaje de la cometa desde la tabla.
Hoy os hablaré de la primera fase, la de pilotaje de la cometa desde tierra.
En esta progresión de ejercicios no aparecen todos los ejercicios que un monitor puede proponer a sus alumnos en esta fase sino solo los ejercicios estándar obligatorios y más representativos.
Pero, ¿qué es un ejercicio estándar?
Un ejercicio estándar representa el ejercicio test o prueba final de una serie de ejercicios que demuestra que un alumno ha conseguido un determinado objetivo, por ejemplo, uno de los ejercicios estándar que aparecen en la secuencia es “despegar la cometa (con asistente), moverla lentamente sin tracción, con dos y una mano, por el borde de ventana, con paradas y aterrizarla (con asistente)” pero antes de llegar a realizar este ejercicio con una cometa hinchable y enganchado al arnés, el alumno debería realizar toda una serie de ejercicios previos, sin engancharse al arnés, como pilotar un parapente pequeño desde diferentes posturas, mantener una cometa hinchable en el cénit, mover una cometa hinchable por el borde de ventana desde diferentes posturas, etc.
El monitor coge del asa del arnés del alumno como medida preventiva de seguridad.
- El primer ejercicio estándar es elegir, montar y revisar el material, dejándolo asegurado a tierra y las líneas enrolladas a la barra.
Como ya sabéis, elegir la medida de cometa adecuada es una de las primeras medidas de seguridad. Cada marca establece, en función de cada medida de cometa, el rango de viento que le corresponde, así que sabiendo la intensidad de viento que hay mediante un anemómetro podremos elegir la medida correcta de cometa que en esta fase debe ser la mínima.
El alumno, una vez hinchada la cometa y conectadas las líneas, ha de asegurar a tierra adecuadamente la cometa orientando el borde de ataque (extradós) al viento y enrollando las líneas a la barra para dejar espacio libre para que otros kiters monten su material y evitar enredos y cruces de líneas.
Para terminar esta primera parte os voy a dejar un vídeo de un instructor de kite que con su simpático hablar de Miami nos explica brevemente cómo se infla una cometa. Por cierto cuando dice parte grande, se refiere al borde de ataque y cuando dice partes pequeñas, a las costillas de la cometa.
