International tourists record in Spain, summer students record at Hispania, escuela de español
During the last few days, the media have informed that in Spain the record of number of international tourists that visit our country during summer has been beaten. Valencia has become the third most visited city of Spain. Hispania, escuela de español has achieved to increase once more the number of students enrolled during summer.
The arrival of foreign tourists to our country, Spain, has seen an increase of 2,9% in comparison to the same month of the previous year and reaches a new record since 1995, according to the Survey of tourist movements at Frontiers (Frontur), broadcasted last Thursday by the Ministry of Industry, Energy and Tourism. United Kingdom, Germany and France are still leading the ranking of visitors, but the Northern, British and Russian markets are the ones that contribute with the greatest amount of tourists to the overall growth of tourists.
In particular, during July 1.826.084 tourists from the United Kingdom visited Spain, which represented a 23,2% of the total visitors and an increase of 3,4% respect the previous year. The second country that most visitors sent was France, with 1.269.607 tourists, increasing a 2,2% the visitors respect the previous year, followed by Germany, that increased a 0,1% with 1.177.584 visitors and the Nordic countries, that with 603.925 tourists registers an increase of 26,5%. It should be noticed as well the decrease of Italian (-14,5%), Portuguese (-8,7%), and American (-8%) tourists.
The greatest increase during the first seven months of the year was registered by the Valencian Community with an increase of 11,8%, reaching the number of 3,3 million of tourists, which represent 9,9% of the total visits registered in Spain.
From these statistic contrasts we may conclude that the idiomatic tourism is still gaining ground. The Valencian Community appears as a reference for these students, tourists which profile differs from “sun and beach”, filling the streets of the Valencian Community alternating the books with the leisure activities offered by our cities.
