If sometimes you have thought about coming in Valencia to do a Spanish course but you think that it could be an expensive place because you have already been in other spanish cities as Madrid or Barcelona, and your wallet has come back trembling, here we recommend you something really cheap to do in Valencia.

If we arrive in Valencia in the morning, we have a range of interesting and very affordable museums for all budgets. You can see an exhibition at the IVAM (€ 2) or MUVIM (free) that are modern art museums. You can visit their websites and see the exhibits there at the time of your visit.

Once we have filled our head with knowledge, now we have to fill our stomach with food … If we are in Valencia, we have to eat paella. Although it sounds like a cliché, Valencia is the world capital of the most international Spanish dish. You can’t eat a paella anywhere like here in Valencia. Yes, of course! We are going to eat in a cheap site.

Near the Palacio del Marqués de Dos Aguas we can find The Utielana (Square Picadero Dos Aguas, 3) an homely restaurant to enjoy Mediterranean cuisine, where you can find quality, and great service. Remember to book paella in advance and a minimum of 2 people. (10-12 € per person).

Another option is Vine i Voràs restaurant near North Station in Estrella Street, 13, where they have a very cheap daily menu. There you can try homemade food at a great price (4 € menu of the day).

In the afternoon and with a full stomach, we recommend you two options: go to the beach or to the Turia Gardens. Malvarrosa Beach is a great beach with all the basic facilities and you will have to pay only the bus or subway ticket (€ 1.50 approx.) The option Turia is also very interesting: with a towel we can knock down the shade and nap in our particular “Central Park”. You can also stroll through our park and get to the Park Gulliver, where there is a gigantic figure with full and free sledges for the whole family that emulates the famous character of Jonathan Swift. We assure you that you have not seen anything like it before.

In the afternoon, for a break we must visit the horchatería El Siglo situated in Santa Catalina Square, just right next to the Cathedral. For about 4 € you can enjoy a very fresh horchata served with delicious fartons. Be careful because they are so delicious that you could not be hungry for dinner.

Before dinner, we can take a beer or a pitcher of Agua de Valencia, a typical Valencia cocktail in the bar El Negrito. One of the most authentic bars in the center of Valencia, situated in Negrito Square in Barrio del Carmen.
Well, we suppose that by now you are more than convinced to come to Valencia to do your Spanish course. In Taronja Spanish School many more activities will be organized so that you can know Valencia to the fullest. We can only say one thing: Enjoy!
