Learning through eating at Enforex Valencia
At our schools we believe in reinforcing cultural understanding as a fundamental element of language learning. Since gastronomy is also culture, it is important for is to ensure that our students eat a hearty lunch in an effort to help them better understand our cultural legacy.
Students who come to Enforex Valencia have no problem integrating themselves into the culinary customs of Valencia and Spain. Of course, this may seem perfectly natural since Spanish cuisine is one of the tastiest in the world and need we say more about Valencian cuisine
To help our students delve deeper into this cultural adventure, we offer a special lunchtime activity in our school where students can enjoy a potluck of different homemade Spanish dishes. Naturally, this activity is one of the most popular we offer among both our students and teachers.
Additionally, this activity also serves to build personal relationships between our students who come from all over the world. This is also a moment for our teachers to enjoy greater contact with our students outside of the classroom and create a more “informal” environment overall at the school.
This activity is an excellent opportunity to help our students integrate with their surroundings as well as a great way for students to become familiar with our eating habits—customs that typically fascinate and raise the curiosity of visitors to Spain.
A wise man once said that “those things that can’t be done at the table and shared with friends aren’t worth doing.” In our school, we too agree with the sensible person behind this expression and its common sense take on the importance of the kitchen and food. With our culinary potluck, we try to live by that saying while satisfying the appetite of our students for our rich culture and fascinating language.
