“WEAR YOUR BOOTS” IN VALENCIA’S MARKETS.

Valencia is internationally known for its food and top quality products. Who doesn’t know “la paella valenciana”? And what about our oranges or the “horchata”? These products take our province’s name and prestige all around the world, beyond seas and oceans.

Thanks to the mild climate we have, in the Region of Valencia we grow all kinds of fruit and vegetables for export. That’s why our area is known as “the garden of Europe”, something that Valencians are very proud of… who wants factories and chimneys when you can live surrounded by tasty vegetables and Mediterrean Sea?

The best way to get close to such good and fresh products is through the 17 municipal markets (http://www.ayto-valencia.es/ayuntamiento/infociudad_accesible.nsf/vListadoCategoriasWeb/E2CD9640FA79981AC12572C20022559F?OpenDocument&bdOrigen=ayuntamiento%2FMercados.nsf&idapoyo=&lang=1&nivel=2) with the city of Valencia. Some of them are architectural pieces of art, such as the Central Market (https://www.mercadocentralvalencia.es/) or the “Mercado de Colón” (http://mercadocolon.es/).

Therefore, if you want to enjoy our products and to have a 100% Spanish experience, we invite you to visit these fabulous markets, get to know its products, its people and, most of all, “wear your boots” (“te pongas las botas”). But… be careful! Wearing your boots doesn’t mean putting a pair of boots on…

Wearing your boots is a very typical Spanish idiom which has nothing to do with the clothes. If you want to know what this popular expression means, we invite you to watch the following video made by the Spanish school TARONJA (https://www.spanishcoursespain-valencia.com), it’s very funny!

Spanish idioms: “Ponerse las botas”

.

After watching this video we’re sure that you will look forward to coming to learn Spanish in Valencia, to walk around our city’s amazing markets and to wear your boots with all the wonderful products we have. We are waiting for you!
